Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by Blocks Buddies to explain what personal information the platform collects and how it is handled. We collect what we need to run the marketplace — accounts, job posts, messages, payments, verification — and nothing is sold to advertisers.

• Account: name, email address, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), profile photo and bio if you add one.
• Job data: job titles, descriptions, categories, budgets, pickup and drop-off addresses, and photos you upload.
• Provider details: business name, service categories, service radius, years of experience, and any license or insurance documents you upload for review.
• Messages, offers, ratings, and reviews you send through the platform.
• Support and dispute information you submit, including evidence files.

Standard server and security logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps, pages requested), and records generated by using the platform, such as when a job is posted, an offer is accepted, or a message is blocked by our contact-sharing filter.

Card numbers and bank account numbers are handled by Stripe, our payments and identity partner. Blocks Buddies does not store full card or bank numbers. We store limited references — for example the last four digits, a payout account status, and whether an identity verification passed.

Government ID images submitted for verification are collected and processed by Stripe Identity under Stripe's own privacy terms. We receive only the verification result.

• Create and secure your account, and show the right dashboard for your role.
• Match jobs with nearby Providers and display listings, profiles, and reviews.
• Process escrow payments, platform fees, refunds, and payouts.
• Send service emails: welcome, offers, acceptance, completion, reviews, payouts.
• Detect fraud, enforce the no-contact-sharing rule, and investigate disputes.
• Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not send marketing emails.

Public provider profiles show display name, photo, bio, service categories, verification badges, and ratings and reviews. Job posts are visible to signed-in Providers, including the approximate location. Your email address, phone number, exact billing details, and identity documents are never shown to other users.

• Lovable Cloud (Supabase) — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Stripe — payments, escrow, payouts, and identity verification.
• Lovable Email (Mailgun) — delivery of service emails.
• Google Maps — address search, geocoding, and map display.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

We use cookies and browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the platform secure. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Account, job, message, and transaction records are kept while your account is active and afterwards for as long as needed to resolve disputes, meet financial record-keeping obligations, and enforce our agreements. Uploaded credential and dispute evidence files are kept in private storage accessible only to you and platform staff.

Data is stored in managed cloud infrastructure and protected in transit with TLS. Access to records is restricted by database row-level security rules so users can only read their own data, and sensitive files live in private storage buckets. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

You can view and edit your profile in Settings, delete open job posts, and unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in the footer of our emails. Service emails required to run a transaction (for example, escrow receipts) will still be sent.

To request a copy or deletion of your personal information, email contact@blocksbuddies.com. We may need to keep certain transaction records to comply with the law.

The platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
