Provider Agreement
Version 1.0 · Last updated August 7, 2026
1. Independent contractor status
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in this agreement creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, franchise, or agency relationship with Blocks Buddies. You decide which jobs to bid on, what to charge, and how, when, and with what tools you perform the work.
You receive no wages, overtime, benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, or paid leave from Blocks Buddies. You are responsible for your own income and self-employment taxes and any business licensing in your area.
2. Qualification, licensing, and insurance
You will only bid on work you are competent to perform, and you will hold every license, permit, or certification the law requires for that work in the location where it is performed. You will not perform work that requires a license you do not hold.
We strongly recommend general liability insurance for all physical work, and we especially recommend it for these categories:
- Moving Help
- Junk Removal
- Handyman Services
Uploading a license or insurance document lets our staff review it and, once approved, display a verified credential badge on your public profile. Badges reflect a document review only — they do not transfer any risk to Blocks Buddies and do not insure you.
3. Safety and site conduct
- You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone you bring.
- Refuse or stop any job that is unsafe, misrepresented, beyond your ability, or that requires equipment or licensing you do not have. Report it to us instead.
- Never work under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and never operate a vehicle or equipment you are not licensed and insured to operate.
- Respect the customer's property and privacy. Do not enter areas outside the job scope, photograph a home beyond what is needed for the job, or remove anything not agreed to.
- Do not subcontract a job or bring extra helpers without the customer's prior consent.
4. Damage, injury, and your liability
You are solely responsible for any bodily injury, death, property damage, loss, or theft caused by you, your helpers, your equipment, or your work. Blocks Buddies is not liable for any of it and provides no insurance covering it.
If damage occurs, notify the customer and Blocks Buddies promptly and work in good faith toward a resolution. Escrowed funds for the job may be paused pending a dispute review.
5. Verification and account approval
Before your Provider role is activated you must verify your email, verify your identity through our payments partner, link a payout account, and be approved by our team. We may suspend or revoke Provider access at any time for safety, fraud, repeated cancellations, off-platform solicitation, or policy violations.
6. Offers, jobs, and cancellations
An offer you place is a genuine commitment to perform the described job at the stated price. Once a customer accepts and funds escrow, a binding agreement exists between you and the customer. Do not abandon a funded job; if circumstances change, communicate on the platform immediately. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in removal.
7. Payments, fees, and payouts
Payment is collected from the customer into escrow when your offer is accepted. Blocks Buddies charges a flat platform fee of $1.00 per completed job, deducted from the job amount. Funds are released to your connected payout account when the job is marked complete by both sides or when a dispute is resolved in your favor.
Tips are 100% yours — no platform fee is taken from a tip. Payout timing depends on our payments partner and your bank; instant payouts may carry a partner fee shown before you confirm.
8. Off-platform activity
All job communication and payment must stay on the platform. Sharing contact details or soliciting customers off-platform removes escrow and dispute protection and is grounds for immediate removal and forfeiture of platform standing.
9. Indemnification and liability limits
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Blocks Buddies harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your work, your conduct, your misrepresentation of qualifications, or your breach of this agreement or any law. The liability limits in the Marketplace Terms & Liability Acknowledgment apply to you in full.
10. Acceptance and versioning
You accept this agreement during provider onboarding and re-confirm the key points each time you make an offer on a job. Each acceptance is recorded with its version, timestamp, and basic device information, and is viewable in Settings under Legal & Agreements.
