Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated July 30, 2026
How payment is held
When a Needer accepts an offer, the full job amount is charged immediately and held in escrow. The Provider is not paid until the job is marked complete by both sides, or until a dispute is resolved in the Provider's favor. Nothing is released automatically while a job is under review.
Before an offer is accepted
No money has moved. A Needer can edit or delete an open job post at any time, and a Provider can withdraw an offer. Job posts can also carry an expiration date, after which they close automatically and stop accepting offers.
After an offer is accepted, before the job is complete
The Needer can cancel the job from the job page using Cancel & refund. The escrowed amount is refunded in full to the original payment method, the job is closed, and the Provider is notified. The $1 platform fee is only charged on completed jobs, so a cancelled job costs nothing.
Please cancel as early as possible. Repeatedly cancelling on Providers after they have committed time or bought supplies may lead to account restrictions. If a Provider has already incurred costs, contact us and we will help both sides reach a fair outcome before you cancel.
Refunds are issued through Stripe. It typically takes 5–10 business days for the money to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
After the job is marked complete
Once both sides confirm completion, escrow is released to the Provider and the job can no longer be self-cancelled. If something was wrong with the work, use Report an issue on the job page. Reporting an issue pauses any pending escrow release and opens a dispute for our review.
Disputes
Either side can open a dispute on an active or completed job. Both parties can submit a description and evidence such as photos. Blocks Buddies reviews the job history, messages, and evidence, and resolves the dispute by releasing the escrowed funds to the Provider, refunding the Needer, or splitting where appropriate.
We aim to respond within 2 business days. Our resolution of escrowed funds is final within the platform; it does not affect your rights to pursue a chargeback with your card issuer, though we ask that you contact us first.
Provider cash-outs
Released earnings appear in the Provider's available balance and can be cashed out to a linked payout account once the balance meets the stated minimum. Once a cash-out is paid out it cannot be reversed by the platform.
